The Applications Performance System® (APSystem®) enhances the overall Situational Leadership® program by adding prework and follow-up activities. The prework is an Influence Inventory, which consists of feedback instruments profiling the participant's Leadership style from others in the organization
The follow-up activities include instrumentation that the participants (also called the Leader) use directly with those employees (Followers) whose behavior they are attempting to influence. The major outcome from this is that the Leader and the Follower will establish a communication channel between them that most supervisor/employee relationships never accomplish.
They will agree on common objectives, the ability and willingness of the follower to accomplish these objectives and the leadership style the supervisor should be using with the follower to be most effective. The long-term outcome of this process is the developing, through trust and honesty, of a communication license with the followers so they can give feedback to their leaders regarding their correct usage of the various leadership styles.
PDC conducts one-on-one Coaching sessions with all participants the following two days after the workshop. These sessions last from 30-60 minutes and raise the "Readiness Level" of the participant so they begin to internalize the skills and concepts they have just spent two days learning. Those that have direct reports will bring one of these people with them to the coaching sessions and work through the APSystem. We will also review with the participant their personal leadership style feedback profile that they received during the session. This is the summary of their prework and includes the perception of others, regarding their leadership style.
This is an extremely powerful and exciting enhancement package that will significantly contribute to the success of your implementation of Situational Leadership®
